Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: Bestwood Village School – Nottingham NG6 8TL
Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE (DOE)
Hours: 22.5 hours per week, 3 days a week (days to be confirmed)
Contract: Permanent (Term time only)
Role
You will join our multidisciplinary clinical team at Bestwood Village School to deliver bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence, or social, emotional and mental health needs. Working closely with the education team and following OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working, you will hold a caseload, support independence, and contribute to staff training and consultation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct OT assessments and develop individualized intervention plans for pupils.
- Hold and manage a therapeutic caseload within the school setting.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff and external professionals to support pupil progress.
- Provide staff training, consultation and guidance on OT practice.
- Document and report on pupil progress in a clear, concise manner.
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and professional standards.
Essential Criteria
- Recognised Occupational Therapy degree (SI desirable).
- Valid and up to date HCPC Registration.
- Registered member of RCOT.
- Relevant experience providing OT services in a school or similar setting.
- Experience working with neurodivergent and/or pupils with learning or socio‑emotional difficulties.
- Sound knowledge of OT theory and its practical application to support independence.
- Experience of multi‑professional work and service collaboration.
- Ability to work independently, flexibly and confidently in a school environment.
- Excellent report‑writing skills.
- Interest in sensory integration or sensory‑informed practice (SI practitioner training desirable).
