Social Worker - Court Team

At Cheshire East Council, we have a dedicated Court Team, and we are looking for experienced, high-calibre, Social Workers to join us on our journey in achieving excellent outcomes for our children through timely and effective care proceedings.
Our Court Team is busy, fast-paced, and highly skilled making this an ideal role for those with experience in court work or statutory child protection services. You’ll need strong organisational skills, the ability to work autonomously under pressure, and a commitment to delivering high-quality practice.

About the role:
1. Work within the Court Team to deliver outstanding practice in care proceedings and achieve permanence for children.
2. Prepare high-quality, evidence-based reports and statements for court hearings.
3. Undertake direct work with children and families, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making.
4. Collaborate with legal professionals, social care colleagues, and partner agencies to ensure robust care planning.
5. Manage complex cases with professionalism and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
6. Benefit from reflective supervision, manageable caseloads, and ongoing training and development opportunities.

About you:
7. You’ll be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
8. You’ll have experience in child protection and care proceedings, with strong knowledge of relevant legislation.
9. You’ll demonstrate excellent analytical and report-writing skills, with the ability to present clear, evidence-based recommendations.
10. You’ll be confident in working under pressure and managing competing priorities effectively.
11. You’ll be compassionate, organised, and driven to achieve positive outcomes for children.
12. You’ll have the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals.
