About the Role

A welcoming and supportive secondary school in Monmouthshire is seeking a Cover Supervisor to join its team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and explore a future career in teaching.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will confidently manage a classroom while delivering pre-set lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of teaching staff. You do not need to be a subject specialist; however, you must be self-assured, proactive and able to engage pupils, maintain focus and manage behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment.
This role is well suited to graduates considering a career in teaching, teaching assistants looking to progress, or individuals with experience working with young people who are confident in leading groups and keen to make a meaningful impact in education.

Who We’re Looking for?
* Confidence to lead a class and manage behaviour positively
* Aged 18 or over
* Supportive of students’ academic, social, and emotional development
* Familiar with core curriculum subjects
* Experience working with young people (e.g. youth work, coaching, tutoring, school support) is desirable but not essential

Requirements (or willingness to obtain at your own cost – guidance provided by Teaching Personnel):
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
* An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service
* Level 2 Safeguarding training
* At least two professional referencescovering 24 months employment
