What you'll be doing?
The Technical team is involved in all aspects of housing design and innovation. This team is also responsible for exploring all solutions and researching the best materials, at the best cost.
In terms of design, there’s the sheer variety of our sites, all of them with unique problems to solve. Then there’s the question of new materials and our drive for sustainability and value, all in the face of ever changing building and environmental legislation
Most of the people in this team have an architectural, planning or engineering background, and for all, we offer the opportunity to gain expertise in design and project management in a thought-provoking setting.
Reporting to the Technical Director, you will be working within our Engineering Team and be responsible for undertaking the design of infrastructure and groundwork’s packages for residential developments.
You will be expected to:
* Procure service records and enquiries for new developments,
* Undertake In-House Road and Sewer designs for new estate roads and Infrastructure.
* Prepare Groundwork pack designs for tender and construction issue.
* Undertake Drainage, Foundation and Levels appraisals to support land bids.
* Secure S38, S104, S185 & S278 legal agreements to suit the development programme.
* Obtain designs for foundations and where necessary have input into securing structural
* designs for superstructure components
* Maintain a continuous process of evaluation of any Consultant’s designs to ensure that
* proposals adhere to best practice in value Engineering
* Liaise with other Technical Team members and others as necessary to seek the discharge of
* building regulations and planning conditions.
* Support our Site Engineers and Site Managers by responding to site technical queries.
What You’ll Need
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
* Individual who is educated to HNC/HND level in an Engineering related discipline with a
* In depth post qualification experience
* Previous experience in a design related environment, preferably with Civil or Structural
* Consulting Engineers.
* Ability to confidently handle negotiations with external bodies, including sewerage
* undertakers and highway authorities.
* Ability to co-ordinate with all members of the design team to ensure programmes are met.
* Individual who is computer literate. Experience of design software packages such as
* XPSite3D and Info-drainage is desirable although not essential.
