Job Summary
We at D H Jones Transport Ltd are seeking a professional and reliable HGV class 1 tramper Driver to join our transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. Experience with flatbed loads that will include rope/sheeting and curtain sider work is required and highly desirable. Candidates must hold a valid driving licence suitable for operating large vehicles. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about driving for the organisation.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to designated locations.
* Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to all traffic regulations and safety standards.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or issues promptly.

* Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
* Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times and any unforeseen delays.
* Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
* Uphold high standards of professionalism, punctuality, and customer service at all times.
* Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, UK CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card
* Minimum 2 years' experience driving Class 1 HGV vehicles
* Maximum 3 points on licence; no DR or IN endorsements permitted
* Strong knowledge of EU driving hours, WTD regulations, and health & safety standards
* Good communication skills with a professional and reliable approach
Qualifications
* Valid driving licence suitable for operating C+E vehicles, including flatbed trailers.
* Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role, preferably with flatbed experience.
* Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
* Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
* Ability to work independently and responsibly, maintaining punctuality and reliability.
* Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required. This position is ideal for motivated individuals committed to safe driving practices and delivering exceptional service within the logistics industry.
