Job Overview
Working as part of the support worker team you will work collaboratively with our pupils and families to help support and contribute to positive outcomes both in school and the home environment. This contribution will involve development and implementation of a range of initiatives within school and home that support attendance, good behaviour, good health and emotional wellbeing.
You will be experienced in working with educational services and other agencies such as the police, social care, health and housing and be skilled at developing positive relationships with these service providers to ensure access to the correct support and assistance is facilitated for our pupils and families.
Our aim is to provide an enabling and engaging educational experience for our pupils, who have a range of physical and learning needs. You will be required to help plan and develop resources to support pupil engagement and attainment to help provide a fulfilling and stimulating environment.
Experience of working with SEN/vulnerable pupils and families is essential, experience of dealing with behavioural and emotional needs and medical conditions such as epilepsy would be advantageous – but full ongoing training will be provided. The role is office based and will require visits to pupil homes and other agency settings. A full driving licence and own transport are essential for this role.
Core Hours are: Monday - Thursday 08.00 – 16.00 and 08.00 – 15.30 on Friday plus INSET days. Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
