Main Objectives
* To monitor and measure the quality standards of finished goods to ensure all artificial turf products that leave the Factory are fit for purpose, in compliance with the production specification and representative of the Company’s commitment to the highest quality standards in the sports surface and artificial turf market.
* To assist in the development, implementation, review and continual improvement of quality standards and quality management systems.
* To provide cover support in the absence of the Managing Director.
* To assist the Quality Manager in the management of the ISO certification systems for SIS MFG including, but not limited to, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, CHAS.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Tasks
* Work closely with the operations manager to ensure the production programme is followed.
* Acceptance of order paperwork, checking for errors and ensuring raw materials assigned are correct.
* Ensuring that the machines are set up correctly and that the specification of the product is within the declared product tolerances.
* Monitoring the quality of the tufted product both on the pile face and back stitch. Reporting to QC manager and tufters of any run‑ability or quality issues.
* Organisation of tufting operators, their output, quality and performance. Which machines are assigned to operators and any required training and reporting of staff issues, discipline, achievements etc.
* Ensuring that all H&S safety checks are completed and that work areas are free from used packaging and pallets. Machines and creel are clean and tidy and that all waste is disposed of according company processes.
* Organisation of creeling teams, and ensure that the correct yarns are loaded, recorded and accounted. Yarns returning to stock are correctly packaged, weighed and labelled.
* Semi‑finished goods are lapped correctly onto the trolleys and at the trolleys are stored safely and correctly.
* That all semi‑finished goods are labelled correctly and at all tufting paperwork is completed and passed to the production planner.
* All activities within this department are carried out in accordance with ISO 9001 and that company standard operating procedures are followed.
* Attend weekly management meetings and report progress, issues, concerns.
Health & Safety
* To work with management teams and employees to ensure Health and Safety standards are met and adhered to.
* Ensuring Health and Safety mandatory requirements and processes are completed for MFG.
General
* To support the MD when ops manager is on holiday.
* To provide cover when required to ensure that no operational process is run in the absence of at least one senior operative.
* To ensure all areas within the tufting department are clean and tidy and housekeeping is to the required standard.
Other Duties
* To undertake any other duties which may be required from time to time, which shall be appropriate to the scope and nature of the role and the capabilities of the post‑holder.

Qualifications
Management in Manufacturing experience is essential.
