Amplifi Talent is partnering with an award-winning, locally owned, multi-site SME headquartered in Antrim, to recruit a suitably experienced Financial Controller on a permanent basis. With ambitious plans for growth, our client seeks a hands-on finance professional to lead and manage the finance function, focusing on control, insight, and financial guidance & support.
Role Overview
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the end-to-end financial management of the business. You will support senior leadership with timely, accurate, and insightful management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management. This is a key hire as the business scales and professionalizes its finance operations. This opportunity may suit a seasoned Finance Manager / Controller or an ambitious Management Accountant seeking career progression.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management Reporting & Analysis
2. Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts to senior leadership.
3. Analyze financial performance, providing commentary and insights on key variances.
4. Develop and maintain financial KPIs to support business decision-making.
1. Budgeting & Forecasting
2. Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing reforecasting cycles.
3. Collaborate with department heads to create and manage departmental budgets.
4. Build financial models for business planning and scenario analysis.
1. Cashflow & Working Capital
2. Manage and forecast short- and long-term cash flow requirements.
3. Monitor working capital, liaising with suppliers and customers as needed.
4. Optimize cash position and ensure liquidity to support operations and growth.
1. Financial Operations & Controls
2. Maintain and improve internal controls and financial processes.
3. Oversee daily finance operations including AP/AR, credit control, payroll, and VAT returns.
4. Coordinate with external accountants and auditors for year-end accounts and compliance.
Financial/Strategic Support
* Support the MD and CEO on financial strategy and business decisions.
* Assist with funding and investment activities.
* Contribute to commercial discussions, contract reviews, and pricing strategies.
Person Specification
* Essential
* Accounting professional with at least 5 years' experience, ideally in an SME environment.
* Strong experience in management accounts and budgeting.
* Proven ability to manage cash flow in a SME.
* Experience in a fast-paced, growing business environment.
* Excellent Excel and financial modeling skills.
* Hands-on, proactive, and commercially minded.
* Desirable
* Experience in tech or related sectors.
* Familiarity with Sage or similar cloud-based accounting systems.
