Our Head Office is based in Stockton-on-Tees and is home to our administrative support teams, engineering & maintenance support team & energy services teams. The Offices are located on the river Tees with close access to walks, shops and restaurants.
The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for an Compliance & Assurance Manager
You'll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
The Compliance and Assurance Manager will take an active role in supporting, delivering, improving, and communicating px SW&G systems, processes, and procedures to achieve the goal of Beyond Zero. Creating and delivering an assurance programme to ensure Operating Sites comply with all aspects of its legal and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Maintaining current certification to ISO standards including 9001, 14001, 45001.
* Review and develop site procedures to ensure SW&G compliance.
* Work effectively and positively with all PX employees, customers, contractors, and visitors to promote a positive safety culture and awareness. Ensure awareness of personal SHE responsibilities to themselves, their colleagues, and the business through positive feedback of the role being carried out.
* Provide relevant and accurate advice, information and guidance to PX and contract personnel including guidance and direction on company procedure, current and future legislative compliance requirements, including changes, amendments, and roll outs.
* Positively represent px and the SW&G Department at internal and external forums requiring a SW&G presence.
* Support and complete accurate internal audits to the required standards and timescales, communicating and closing-out action points to completion. Review external audit and inspection reports, communicating and ensuring closeout of action points.
* Prepare timely and accurate information for the px communication mechanisms, include reports, manuals, newsletters, electronic communications, meetings, documentation, and training sessions, that both the business and external agencies require.
* Leading event investigations, preparing accurate and timely reports, and ensuring appropriate communication and close out of actions and recommendations.
* Assist with the coordination of the Company emergency preparedness strategy.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum Requirements:
The Job Holder will hold a degree/HND in H&S/Environmental/Engineering and have experience in:
* Working on a 24/7 industrial site within the chemicals, petrochemical, Oil & Gas, renewables, or power generation.
* Top tier Control of Major Accident Hazard (COMAH) experience.
* Working with and promoting Company management systems.
* Inspection and auditing activities.
* SHEQ reporting to internal and external standards and bodies.
* Developing and reviewing procedures.
* Completing investigations into events to identify root causes and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
* Working in and contributing to cross discipline teams.
* SHE legislation at work.
* Environmental permitting.
* Risk management best practice.
* ESG reporting standards.
