Email: elizabeth.cook12@nhs.net Call: 01977 747471 About the role To work as part of a team providing a high standard of physiotherapy care across all sites to the local populations Mid Yorkshire Hospitals serve and regionally within our specialist centres. To participate in the rotational scheme which involves working across general out-patients, hands/plastics, orthopaedics, medical and surgical wards, specialist rehabilitation units, paediatrics, MY therapy, critical care, stroke and neurology, respiratory services, spinal injuries, burns and care of the elderly. Main duties To perform physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and some complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme. To hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training, clinical reasoning sessions and case discussions. Access to advice and support from senior physiotherapists is available as required, clinical work is routinely evaluated in the first year. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner. To supervise assistants and technical instructors. Essential person specification requirements Degree in Physiotherapy HCPC Registered Broad range of clinical experience across a variety of clinical areas through student placements/ or previous Band 5 posts Experience of dealing with general public Evidence of continued professional development Ability to work independently and within in a team Good communication skills both verbal, written and non-verbal Ability to pass on knowledge Ability to present information, written and verbally in a clear and logical manner Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate workload Excellent clinical reasoning skills with the ability to formulate problem list/ gaols and patient centred treatment plans. Good problem-solving skills Good time management and evidence of using initiative Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for services, Ability to comprehend and work within HCPC and the Trust s policies including data protection, equal opportunities, health & safety, risk management Ability to keep accurate and legible patient notes Awareness of own limitations. Good IT skills Ability to work in a team environment Good interpersonal skills Ability to use and develop appropriate patient handling skills Ability to cope under pressure Committed to team and personal development Flexible to change and adaptable to work in a fast paced environment Reliable Professional appearance and demeanour.
