A client within the Public Sector, based in Greater Manchester, is currently recruiting for a Repairs and Voids Surveyor to join their Team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority setting. The successful candidate will have strong experience in social housing surveying, covering both tenanted and void properties, with a solid understanding of construction, maintenance, and Schedule of Rates (SORs).
The Role
Key purpose of the role:
To deliver effective surveying services across the social housing stock, ensuring properties are maintained to a safe, compliant, and high-quality standard while working collaboratively with residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Surveying both tenanted and void social housing properties
Preparing detailed schedules of works in line with SORs
Issuing works orders and managing repairs and maintenance programmes
Liaising with residents, colleagues, contractors, and other stakeholders
Monitoring works on site to ensure quality, compliance, and value for moneyThe Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require two to three of the following essential qualifications / requirements:
Relevant construction or surveying qualification (e.g. HNC/HND, NVQ, or equivalent)
Proven experience surveying social housing properties
Full UK driving licenceThe below skills and experience would be beneficial:
Experience surveying both tenanted and void properties
Excellent knowledge of SORs, construction, and maintenance methods
Strong communication and stakeholder management skillsThe client is looking to move quickly with this role and is offering £30 per hour Umbrella LTD (Inside IR35) (approximately £24 per hour PAYE).
