Head of Projects Facilities Management
Location: Dartford
Salary: Up to £85,000 + benefits
A leading facilities management provider is seeking a driven and commercially focused Head of Projects to lead its projects division from the Dartford head office. This senior role is ideal for someone with strong leadership capability, hands-on commercial oversight, and a track record of delivering M&E projects across multiple client contracts.
The successful candidate will manage a team, oversee project delivery, drive financial performance, and support the growth of the projects arm.
Key Responsibilities Lead, develop and motivate the Projects team, providing coaching, guidance and direction
Oversee appraisals, performance management, recruitment, training and development
Manage P&L, budgets, forecasting and departmental financial performance
Ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification, within budget and to client satisfaction
Drive commercial performance through cost control, margin protection and effective risk management
Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting business development and tendering activity
Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with QSHE and contractual requirements
Plan and allocate resources, ensuring teams are fully competent and appropriately staffed
Manage multiple contracts and maintain high standards of delivery
Ensure accurate, professional correspondence and project documentation
Identify, scope and support new opportunities and bids across the client base
Skills & Experience Strong background in facilities management or building services
Minimum 5 years in a similar senior role delivering M&E projects (£100k£1.5m)
Proven experience managing teams and specialist subcontractors
Commercially astute with demonstrable P&L and budget responsibility
Experience overseeing multiple contracts and client relationships
Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of health & safety, QSHE and compliance standards
Experience in recruitment, appraisal processes and people development
Relevant technical qualification (mechanical, electrical or HVAC) preferred

Capable of growing and improving a projects function
