This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of pupils with complex learning needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and physical disabilities. As a SEN Teacher, you will take a lead role in planning and delivering high-quality, inclusive education, working closely with support staff, therapists, and families to help every pupil reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with special educational needs (SEN)
* Develop and implement personalised learning programmes and EHCP targets
* Lead and support teaching assistants and support staff within the classroom
* Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs
* Promote independence, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
* Work collaboratively with therapists, external professionals, and families to ensure holistic support
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews, reports, and meetings
* Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience teaching children or young people with SEN, particularly those with complex needs
* Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching strategies
* A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable learners
* Confidence working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Enhanced Child-Only DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, during term time
