About the Opportunity
Morson Edge is recruiting for a Highway Inspector to join a well‑established organisation responsible for the operation and maintenance of a major 25km route in East London. This corridor is a vital part of the region’s transport network, and the role plays a key part in ensuring its safety, reliability and compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong inspection, supervision and safety experience who wants to work on a long-term, stable infrastructure project with real impact.
Key Responsibilities
As a Highway Inspector, you will:
Conduct routine and ad hoc inspections across the network
Identify hazards, defects, and non-compliance issues
Supervise maintenance activities and liaise with contractors
Maintain accurate inspection records and reports
Support hazard prevention and safety improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Work independently while contributing to a collaborative operational team
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will have:
LANTRA Highway Inspection training
NRSWA Supervisor certification
Previous experience in highway inspection, supervision, health & safety and hazard analysis
Strong observational skills and a proactive approach to identifying issues
Clear and confident communication and report-writing abilities
A full UK driving licence (pool vehicles provided)
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
