The successful candidate will become a part of this dynamic and friendly Physics team within the Imaging with Non-Ionising Radiation Physics Section, providing scientific support to sites across Wales.
The successful candidate will be well-supported to develop in their career.
You will play a key role in the group’s mission of developing a centre of excellence for clinical-scientific MRI service provision and research.
You will be a HCPC registered Clinical Scientist and have an IPEM MRSE certificate of competence.
Main duties of the job
We are part of a large Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering department and have excellent links with Swansea University, which is the academic centre for Medical Physics STP Trainees from across Wales. We provide MR physics services to sites across Wales, including to the Institute of Life Science in Swansea University, supporting a mix of GE and Siemens scanners.
The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of MR safety matters and a good knowledge of the range of clinical MRI techniques.

Essential Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
1. Honours degree in an appropriate physical science (1st or second class). MSc in Medical Physics or equivalent.
2. Registration with HCPC as a Clinical Scientist (Medical Physics).
3. IPEM MRSE certificate of competence
Desirable criteria
4. Lead role in research projects.
Essential Aptitude and abilities
Essential criteria
5. Able to communicate highly complex clinical, technical and scientific information to other professional groups at postgraduate level.
6. Write and present scientific papers at national and international conferences.
7. Able to deliver teaching and training on complex subjects at masters level.
8. Able to train groups of other professional staff including consultant medical staff.
Desirable criteria
9. Ability to travel within geographical area.
10. Able to work hours flexibly.
