As a key player in the industry, they pride themselves on a commitment to delivering excellence service, now seeking a Transport General Manager - 3PL Contract Logistics to own the end-to-end group sector Transport function.
As the Transport General Manager - 3PL Contract Logistics, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing end to end operations, leading multi-site Transport operations. Managing a Transport team of over 300 employees across key DC locations, encompassing over +400 vehicles.
Lead the National Planning agenda through a team of 6 planning experts.
Assume responsibility for the Transport Health & Safety, Driver Training & Risk Assessors.
Lead all operational H&S, Compliance and Fleet Maintenance agendas across the National Transport operations.
Ensuring seamless coordination and optimisation of logistics operations from an internal synergy and Continuous Improvement perspective within an Open Book environment.
Implementing best practices whilst ensuring sufficient usage of the TMS & Planning platforms.
To help support and develop individuals, provide developmental opportunities within the business.
The successful candidate for the Transport General Manager - 3PL Contract Logistics position will have the following skills and experiences:
~ A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Background - Essential.
~ 5+ Years Transport General Management experience within a 3PL / FMCG or Retail environment - Essential.
~ Proven experience in managing Open / Closed Book operations consisting of headcount north of +250, and +350 assets - Essential.
~ Previous budget management of +£40m - Essential.
~ A proven history of strong leadership abilities, whilst fostering a culture of excellence and an ability to identify and develop talent within - Essential.
~ Commutable to the Northamptonshire 5 days per week - Essential.
