We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Sub Agent to support the delivery of complex civil engineering works, including bridge construction and structural refurbishments, across sites in Glasgow and Edinburgh. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising site teams, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the Site Agent in managing the day-to-day site operations on bridge and civil works projects
Supervise subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with design and programme
Ensure quality standards and technical compliance with specifications and drawings
Assist in preparing and reviewing method statements, risk assessments, and permits
Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and quality documentation
Liaise with engineers, commercial staff, and client representatives
Monitor progress against programme and support issue resolution
Lead daily briefings and contribute to maintaining a strong health and safety culture
Requirements:
HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering - essential
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) - essential
First Aid qualification - desirable
Previous experience working on bridges or heavy civil engineering projects
Strong understanding of UK H&S legislation and construction best practices
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Strong communication, leadership, and team coordination skills
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
Desirable Experience:
Experience working on Network Rail or highway bridge schemes
Familiarity with CDM Regulations and bridge construction methodologies
Competence in managing temporary works and structural interfaces
Proficiency with digital tools for reporting, site records, or BIM integration
Working Hours:
07:00am till 17:00pm
