Overview
Research Leads – The Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship (ARCCS) at UNSW Sydney is inviting applications for four senior academic positions (Level D/E). The ARCCS is a 10-year, $40 million partnership between UNSW Sydney and Cancer Council NSW, led by Professor Bogda Koczwara AM, to advance health and prosperity for all cancer survivors through innovative research and partnership with survivors, clinicians and the community.
Responsibilities
* Lead and shape the Centre’s research strategy across four themes: (1) Person-Centred Care in Cancer Survivorship, (2) Behaviour and Health, (3) Survivorship Epidemiology, (4) Precision Survivorship.
* Develop and lead high-impact, equity-focused research programs; secure competitive funding; build national and international partnerships.
* Mentor and supervise honours and postgraduate research, and lead multidisciplinary teams.
* Engage with industry, clinical partners, and community to translate evidence into practice, services and policy.
Qualifications
* A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
* Extensive leadership experience in the relevant professional field.
* Proven ability to stay up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
* Demonstrated excellence in leading research projects and teams; substantial supervision experience.
* Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across disciplines and sectors.
* Evidence of mentoring and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
* Ability to build relationships with industry and the community and attract industry funding.
* Understanding of UNSW aims, objectives and values, and relevant policies and guidelines.
* Capacity to lead the implementation and effectiveness of safety management systems.
Benefits
* Remuneration: Academic Level D or Level E (AUD 185k–237k) based on experience + 17% Super + Annual Leave Loading.
