The Role We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a vibrant Brentwood school. You will play a key role in helping children access learning, build confidence, and feel secure within the classroom environment. This is a hands-on, rewarding position where your contribution will have a meaningful impact each day. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support to pupils with special educational needs Assist teachers in implementing individual education plans tailored to specific learning needs Support pupils during class activities, adapting explanations to aid understanding Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive, consistent strategies Build strong, professional relationships with staff, parents, and external professionals Maintain accurate records to track pupil progress Contribute to a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment Your calm presence and consistent support can make all the difference. Requirements Right to work in the UK Valid DBS certificate, or willingness to apply for one Experience supporting children with SEND Understanding of different learning styles and adaptive strategies A patient, empathetic, and professional approach Experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs would be advantageous.
