Your Role
As the Truck Driver and Transport Supervisor, you will assist in coordinating an effective, responsive, and safe transport support service and ensure the business achieves set KPIs for the transport operation.
Your Responsibilities
* Assist the Distribution Manager in organising operations of the transportation department, including managing drivers and volunteers, scheduling routes, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and people.
* Implement transportation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure the safety and security of passengers, drivers, and goods, including implementing measures to prevent accidents, theft, and other incidents.
* Collaborate with other departments within the organization, including retail, Vinnies, and customer service, to coordinate transportation activities and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transportation activities, including driver logs, vehicle maintenance records, and delivery receipts, and record damage to society vehicles via the proper channels.
* Train and supervise transportation personnel, including drivers, as needed.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technological advances, and regulatory changes related to transportation and logistics.
Requirements
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.
* Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements, including DIFOT.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse data and identify trends to improve transportation operations.
* Experience working in a membership-based organisation to support and empower members and volunteers.
* Proficiency in transportation management software, GPS tracking systems, and other relevant technology.
