An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist, Band 8B, to join a new innovative Forensic Liaison Partnership team within NSCHT Mental Health Rehabilitation pathway. This post provides an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of Psychological Services for a specialist community liaison and partnership service for those who have previously been in forensic services. The aim is to reduce unwarranted variation and develop existing services at interfaces between forensic and non-forensic pathways to improve patient flow and transitions of care.
Post is a 2 Year Fixed Term.

Responsibilities
* To work autonomously in undertaking highly specialised single case assessments, formulations and consultations with the service user and/or treating teams to develop an understanding of the person’s presentation, symptoms and related management difficulties within a psychological framework. Provide consultation, supervision and support to transitioning teams in the community to enable services to feel confident in supporting this client group.
* To utilise highly specialist psychological skills to develop case formulations that provide detailed psychological understanding of the person’s presentation, symptoms and related management issues, considering theoretical models and highly complex factors informing safe and effective future care.
* To make highly skilled decisions in advising colleagues and partners on evidence-based management plans and to monitor their efficacy through regular consultations, adjusting formulations during transitions from secure to non-secure care.
* To contribute to risk assessment and management to support transitions from inpatient to community settings.
* To maintain a high level of professionalism despite exposure to highly emotive, distressing material.
* To develop excellent working relationships with secure and community colleagues and partners to underpin effective liaison, communication and learning.
* To communicate complex information about client formulation and management/treatment plans in an accessible and meaningful way to colleagues.
Requirements and Expectations
* Clinical or Forensic Psychologist with current registration and relevant experience in forensic and community settings.
* Demonstrated ability to lead psychologically-informed service development within a rehabilitation pathway.
* Experience in multi-disciplinary working and liaising with secure and community services to improve transitions of care.
