Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of project managers, supervisors, operatives and subcontractors, delivering concurrent projects for the Rolls Royce account and ensuring commercial management of projects to protect profitability.
Produce and inspect programme, cost, quality and safety, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Develop relationships with key stakeholder clients and assist in identifying opportunities with existing and new clients.
Manage technical support, training, appraisals, and maintain close working relationships with Commercial, Engineering, Estimating, Work Winning and Support teams.
Assist in contract negotiations and provide engineering support as required.
Qualifications
* Proven and demonstrable experience as an Operations Manager
* Experience working in occupied buildings/campuses
* Experience managing health and safety procedures across multiple sites
* Experience preparing quotations and estimates
* Strong understanding of customers' business requirements
* City & Guilds / NVQ / Degree (or equivalent) construction related qualification
* SSSTS/SMSTS, JIB/BESA, CSCS Card, First Aid
* Competent user of IT software packages including MS Office, Fieldview or similar tablet-based quality assurance software
* Understanding of programming techniques and experience with Asta, Microsoft Projects or Primavera programming software
* Commercial aptitude, negotiation skills, proven accounting and financial management track record
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
* High organisational and time-management ability to meet deadlines
* Self‑motivated, proactive, initiative and problem‑solving skills
* Commitment to high-quality service, reliability, conscientiousness and flexibility
* Adept at working in a team and providing leadership/support/development to fellow team members
