The Role: Quality Engineer
You will start in the Quality Assurance Department, supporting the development and maintenance of the quality management systems under the guidance of the Quality Manager.
The role involves managing activities related to all LMT production units, including CAPA, non-conformance management, product release, calibration, and internal audits. You will ensure documentation is current and complete actions as directed.
Required knowledge includes product release or Quality Management in SAP or similar ERP systems. Knowledge of inspection plans, control plans, FMEA, and ISO 9001:2015 or IATF 16949:2016 internal auditing is preferred. Experience in reviewing engineering drawings and metal machining techniques is highly desirable.
You will also support audits, maintain QMS document libraries, and work closely with the Operations department.
Main responsibilities:
* Work safely and adhere to all HSE requirements
* Collaborate with the Quality, Compliance, and Materials QC Departments
* Complete SAP QM, CAPA, audits, and concessions activities accurately and promptly
* Conduct internal and external supplier audits
* Manage company databases and generate reports
* Coordinate data entry and documentation in MS Office
* Liaise with Quality Managers and third parties on quality issues
* Participate in operational and continuous improvement projects
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and experience:
* Diploma in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field, or equivalent competency
* Experience in a QMS environment, preferably ISO 9001
* Knowledge of QA tools and CAPA methodologies
* Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
* Experience in industrial or manufacturing settings
This is a permanent position based in Swinton, Greater Manchester, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to meet business needs.
