Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in Sarcoma Cancers
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest healthcare system in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff. The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre (BWoSCC) provides Specialist Oncology services to 60% of the Scottish population and sees over 8,000 new patients a year.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist oncology input into the Sarcoma Oncology service at BWoSCC.
* Participate in clinics, manage cross‑cover, and attend on‑call duties (1:26 frequency) at BWoSCC.
* Engage in yearly appraisal and job planning with the Clinical Director.
* Supervise trainees and contribute to teaching, including weekly postgraduate medical education sessions.
* Recruit and manage clinical trials and participate in audit, research and quality improvement activities.
Teaching & Research
* Clinical supervision of trainees and delivery of teaching at the department seminar rooms.
* Active participation in clinical trial recruitment and research projects in collaboration with the Clinical Trials Unit.
* Contribute to audit projects and publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals.
