We would like to appoint a Technician to join our ambitious and friendly Design and Technology Department. The ideal candidate will support classroom teachers and students in a range of tasks including preparing resources, using general woodwork and metalwork machinery (lathes, circular saws, band saws etc) and managing stock. Experience working as an engineer, carpenter or maker is desirable. Training is available and the most important qualities are common sense and a pragmatic approach along with a willingness to learn.
The role would be suitable for someone looking to gain experience of working in a school setting before pursuing a career in education or someone who wishes to study a related distance learning degree alongside their work. In either case, we would be open to discussing any support we can offer.
In return we offer candidates: fantastic students; a culture based on shared values; committed, professional and well‑qualified colleagues; and good professional development opportunities and support.
Prospective candidates are welcome to contact Lisa Cox, PA to the Principal, HR Lead, on 01993 811431 ex 273 or by email coxl@themarlboroughschool.org with any queries.
Applications will be considered as and when they are received. We reserve the right to withdraw this vacancy prior to the closing date if there is a good level of response. Therefore, we would recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible.
