We are currently recruiting an experienced and compassionate Relief Chef/Cook to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a variety of well-established and rewarding environments across Norfolk and Suffolk, including care homes, schools, event venues, and contract catering settings.
As a Relief Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, particularly for residents in care settings. You will cover a range of assignments, supporting our clients during periods of staff leave, illness, or increased business demand.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and cook meals in accordance with menus and specific dietary requirements
Ensure meals are presented to a high standard and served at appropriate temperatures
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and food preparation areas
Monitor stock levels and place orders as required
Collaborate with care or site staff to ensure residents' or customers’ dietary needs are met
Modify meals for special events or celebrations when necessary
Adhere to food safety standards and health and safety regulations at all times
Support the kitchen team during busy periods, ensuring smooth service delivery
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Chef or Cook, ideally within care homes, healthcare, or catering environments
A good understanding of nutritional needs, particularly for elderly or vulnerable individuals
Enhanced DBS certificate (Essential)
Ability to quickly adapt to different kitchen settings and regulations
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred due to travel between sites)
