Noble Recruiting are currently recruiting a confident and experienced Freight Forwarder/Import Clerk to join our friendly and proactive Client in Felixstowe.
Due to the nature of our roles, candidates must be a UK Resident residing within the local area. Please note we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

Currently seeking a detail-oriented and organised Import Clerk to join their freight forwarding team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the importation of goods, ensuring timely customs clearance, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and documentation requirements.
Your responsibilities include:
* Coordinate and process import shipments via sea, air, or road freight.
* Liaise with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and internal departments.
* Prepare and review documentation such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists
* Ensure accurate data entry into internal systems and customs software.
* Monitor shipment status and update clients proactively on delays or issues.
* Work with customs authorities to ensure timely clearance of goods.
* Maintain filing systems for shipment records and customs entries.
* Support the billing team by verifying charges and preparing client invoices.
* Resolve discrepancies or issues with shipments and documentation.
* Maintain strong client relationships and provide high levels of customer service.
You will need:
* Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or import operations preferred.
* Understanding of international shipping documents and customs procedures.
* Proficiency in using logistics systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Knowledge of customs clearance systems (e.g., CHIEF/CDS, Destin8, CNS).
* Familiarity with Incoterms and trade compliance regulations.
* Experience with freight forwarding software (e.g., CargoWise, ASM Sequoia, etc.).
* Additional language skills (depending on region and international scope).
* Confident and outgoing individual.
* Driver with own transport is desirable.
* UK resident and the right to work in the UK.
