Senior Architect / Team Leader - High-End Residential
Belsize Park,London
About the studio
The practice is passionate about the relationship between design, psychology, and both mental and physical health.
Rooted in the science of neuroarchitecture, an emerging field exploring how spaces influence how we think, feel, and behave, the studio combines bold, creative design with evidence-based thinking.
Over the past two years, the team has embarked on an ambitious journey to explore the relationship between architecture, human behaviour, emotions, and overall wellbeing, underpinned by insights from neuroscience and psychology. They are now looking for a senior architect who not only has the technical expertise to run complex projects, but also shares a passion for advancing this way of thinking.
About the role
The practice is seeking an experienced architect and team leader with a proven track record of running private residential projects in the UK, typically with construction costs between £500k and £5M. The successful candidate will oversee 10–15 projects simultaneously and lead a close-knit team of 3–5 people.
This is a rare opportunity to take a senior creative and managerial role in a studio that places neuroscience and wellbeing at the heart of its design philosophy. The role involves leading high-end single-family homes and small residential developments, as well as select commercial projects, guiding them from the first sketch through to completion.
Key responsibilities
* Leading 10–15 residential and commercial projects, managing teams of 3–5 people
* Overseeing all RIBA stages, from concept design through to delivery on site
* Translating client briefs into bold, intuitive architectural concepts with a focus on wellbeing
* Embedding principles of neuroarchitecture, biophilia, and human-centred design into every stage
* Building strong relationships with private and commercial clients, consultants, partners and networks
* Ensuring client satisfaction at every stage – keeping them informed, securing approvals, and delivering regular reports
* Managing programme, quality, budgets and profitability across multiple projects
* Mentoring junior team members and fostering a positive, collaborative studio culture
What they’re looking for
* A skilled and creative architect with five to ten years’ post-Part 3 experience
* Demonstrated ability to independently run high-end residential projects (single family homes and small developments) in London and across the UK
* Strong knowledge of construction projects ranging from £500k–£5M
* Excellent client relationship management skills, with experience leading projects through all RIBA stages
* Exceptional communication skills in fluent written and spoken English – confident, charismatic and empathetic when engaging with clients, teams and collaborators
* Business acumen, with a clear understanding of project profitability and commercial detail
* A genuine passion for neuroarchitecture, biophilia, or the relationship between design, health and wellbeing
* A people person with great energy and positivity
* A charismatic leader able to inspire and motivate teams
* Empathetic, approachable and collaborative in style
* Commercially switched-on and detail-oriented
Why join the practice?
* Neuroarchitecture at the core – one of the UK’s only practices actively applying neuroscience to residential design.
* Creative autonomy – the opportunity to shape 10–15 diverse projects from concept to completion.
* Leadership role – with direct responsibility for both clients and a talented project team.
* Room to grow – as the practice expands, so can the role and its influence.
* A supportive, human-focused workplace – designing for wellbeing while prioritising it in the way the team works, collaborates and grows together.
