Base pay range
The Legal Counsel role, based in West Yorkshire will deliver expert support across contract negotiation, commercial disputes, compliance, and company wide policy and training. You'll be part of highly successful company who supply to the UK's fast evolving defence industry.
This is a rare opportunity to join a UK based engineering innovator supplying critical components to the defence sector. With over a century of heritage, they operate from a state of the art manufacturing facility in Yorkshire and are part of a global group. They're undergoing an exciting phase of growth, with increased demand for their advanced power transmission systems. Description
The Legal Counsel will be:
* Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad spectrum of high‑value and complex commercial contracts
* Advising stakeholders across commercial, operational and strategic matters
* Investigating, managing and resolving disputes
* Liaising with external counsel on contentious issues
* Overseeing company compliance and regulatory obligations
* Assisting with redevelopment of company wide policies, procedures and precedents
* Delivering legal training to the wider business
* Wider duties include advising in relation to commercial property, construction contracts, IP, and IT contracts
Profile
The Legal Counsel should be:
* A solicitor (or equivalent) with 3+ years PQE
* Skilled in high‑value, complex commercial contracts is a must
* Experienced (advantageous) in commercial property, construction, IP, or IT
* Familiarity with manufacturing or defence sectors is a plus, though not essential
* Due to the nature of the company, candidates will have to undergo security clearance
Job Offer
* Salary range from £70-80k plus bonus
