Offer description

Derby Road Practice are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible care navigator to our fantastic team. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 16 hours per week working the following days; Monday 8am - 6.30pm Thursday 12.20pm - 6.30pm. You must have flexibility to cover for any training, holidays and occasional sickness.


Main duties of the job

* Receive and assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
* Provide comprehensive administrative support for the general practice and to act as focal point for patients and staff.
* Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors either in person or via the telephone.
* Facilitate effective communication between patients and members of the healthcare community.
* Handle patient complaints in accordance with practice protocols.
* Provide an efficient and accurate support to the administration team, clinicians and patients.

We are part of Suffolk Primary Care, which is a group of 7 GP practices across Suffolk. We have 2 sites, based in the heart of Ipswich, with close travel links to the beautiful Suffolk countryside and the Suffolk coast.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including Grace C in English and Maths (or equivalent).


Experience

* One years experience working in a busy customer service or reception environment.
* Experience of working in a team.
* Works calmly and professionally as part of a team, with the ability to multi-task.
* A strong command of written and spoken English with an excellent telephone manner is a must.
* Good time management skills and the ability to follow protocols and or instruction and attention to detail.
* Experience of working within primary care.
* Use of clinical systems including SystmOne.
