Reference 2025-160756 Position description Domain Performance and Support Job field / Job profile IT - IT operations management Job title Information Systems Manager (IS) Employment type Permanent Professional category Professional, Engineer & Manager Part time / Full time Full-time Job description What will I be doing The Information Systems Manager (IS) is responsible for carrying out actions to maintain in operational conditions the information system, inc changes, upgrades, infrastructures, workstations and software throughout the site. Essential Skills: - Experience of delivering IT projects within agreed timelines. - An effective communicator able to represent the department positively within senior levels of the organisation, including key business stakeholders. - Ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders across the business. - Experience of IT infrastructure and core business services. - Strong business analysis skills. - A flexible and pragmatic approach. - A broad understanding of IS/IT core systems and concepts, covering storage, networking, Servers, operating systems, databases, desktops, printing and mobile communications. - A willingness to undertake some UK / International travel on occasions. Desirable Skills: - Transition of IT services to 3rd party IT Service Provider. - Project management skills following a recognised methodology. - Ability to identify, manage and mitigate risks/issues and team/project conflicts. - Manage Systems, processes and people in a challenging environment. - Management of external 3rd party vendors / suppliers. Main Responsibilities: - Timely resolution of infrastructure incidents tickets, minimising the impact to the end user base by restoring infrastructure services promptly. - Providing support to other business sections (if required and time/resource permitting). - Ensure customer satisfaction in all aspects of the role. - Liaise with other IS sections in order to resolve incidents raised against the whole IS department. - Support the group's current and future IS systems and their development. - Adherence to IT service level targets. - Liaise with 3rd party suppliers as required to ensure best value for money is obtain on all IS contracts. - Keep up with technological advances including current supplier systems/services and evaluate potentially beneficial options as required. - Adherence to Asset Management practices. - Implement the IS strategy delivered from group. - Provide governance and assistance to all IT/IS team members. - Design & implementation of various local IS systems under your direct control. - Switch/Server/Systems racking and component upgrades. - Ensure that appropriate training/hand-over is provided to other IT personnel team for new systems/services. - Conduct proactive and regular maintenance across IT systems. - Adhere to group security practices. - People Management & Leadership. - Escalation for any queries raised by other team members within the IS department. - Promote team working with other technical function But what else?
