Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food production and preparation, with a keen interest in developing their culinary skills within a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Commis, you will work closely with senior chefs, contributing to the overall success of our kitchen operations while ensuring high standards of food safety and quality.
Duties
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
* Support the team in food production tasks, including chopping, mixing, and plating dishes.
* Participate in inventory management and stock rotation to minimise waste.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods.
* Follow recipes and presentation specifications as directed by senior chefs.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is essential, ideally within a restaurant setting.
* Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Experience in food preparation and cooking techniques is essential.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
* Culinary qualifications or training would be beneficial.
