Job description/reference GS- KGW- CCC1 Closing date: 3/7/25 Job Title: Childrens support worker x 2 for double handed role Hours per week: 6 per week either Saturday or Sunday plus 4 extra week day hours during school holidays per role Location: Llanrwst Rate of pay: £14.70 per hour About me: I am a happy lively 11-year-old boy who has ASD and Global Developmental Delay who always needs guidance and structure and can present with challenging behavior at times. Enjoys swimming; going to the park, soft play and going walking, The support will be double handed on either a Saturday or Sunday. Your role will be to ensure his safety, help him access the community and attend to his personal care needs. Task and duties, to include any or all the following: Support in accessing activities in the community, likes animals, swimming, playing in the park, going to soft play, and going for a walk. He is a charming young man who has a mischievous and loving personality. He can say a variety of short phrases and understands most instructions, although he may not always comply immediately, he will eventually follow the instruction if shown a now, next schedule. Always use the now/next schedule. Give me him frequent reminders and encourage him to use his words. Uses Pecs and visual guides, classed as nonverbal. Due to sensory issues can display high levels of anxiety, doesn't like loud noise and will not cope with lots of demands being made at once; it is stressful for him interacting with other children and adults; does not like to be touched unless he has instigated it, this can lead to challenging behavior. The PA will need to use reins or the buggy for any transfers. PA to handle personal care in a sensitive and caring manner and to ensure that good personal hygiene is always maintained. Nappy changing may be required. PA to ensure my son's safety at all times, must never be left on his own, he has no stranger/safety awareness and needs constant supervision. PA will need to assist with food as challenging to sit still to eat. He can jerk and make noises and may want to run. Ensure he does not overfill his mouth with food, he uses a bottle for drinks. PA to engage in play activities and encourage him to develop turn taking skills during play. He likes to play with pipe cleaners, this can be very soothing. His soft toys are important to him. Any other duties not mentioned but that fall within the scope of this role should be discussed and then mutually agreed. Undertake any further training, as mutually agreed.
