Wrexham is bidding to become UK City of Culture 2029 – and we’re looking for an experienced Creative Producer to help shape an ambitious, community-led cultural programme at the heart of the bid.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a nationally significant project, helping to tell Wrexham’s story and showcase its creativity, diversity and cultural ambition on a UK-wide stage.
About the role
Working closely with the Bid Director and team, you will:
* Develop a bold and compelling cultural programme for the 2029 bid
* Collaborate with local, national and international partners
* Ensure strong community voice and participation throughout
* Shape proposals that reflect Wrexham’s identity, creativity and Welsh culture
* Contribute to a high‑quality submission to the Department for Culture, Media & Sport
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking someone who:
* Is a confident creative producer and collaborator
* Has strong networks across the arts and cultural sector
* Can develop ambitious ideas grounded in community engagement
* Is passionate about inclusion, diversity and cultural impact
* Contract: Freelance / consultancy
* Duration: Approx. 15–25 days over 6 months (from May 2026)*
* Fee: Up to £10,000 (incl. VAT)
* Location: Flexible (with engagement in Wrexham)
* Deadline: Sunday 26 April, 23:59
