EML Payments is a global leader in the fintech space. Our mission is to create awesome, instant, and secure payment solutions that connect our customers to their customers, anytime, anywhere, wherever money is in motion. Our Purpose is to inspire transformative digital change for our customers and communities.

As an issuer and processor, we provide our clients and partners with innovative alternatives to traditional banking solutions for reloadable and non-reloadable programs. We are agile, we are innovative. We take a partnership approach; we tailor solutions and place a strong focus on operational excellence.

Our place is one of collaboration, teamwork & innovation. But, above all, it’s one that embraces difference. And rather than have you blend in, we want to help you unleash your full potential.

The team you’ll be joining

We want to make the product centre of our world and are creating a collaborative, cross-disciplined group of individuals that work to achieve the common goal of creating great payment experiences through the development of a new enterprise-wide platform which we are embarking on building.

The product team’s superpower is cross-functionality, having several different roles collaborating on a project brings necessary diversity of skills, experience, and perspective to deliver the product

The Role

* You will make interacting with products, websites and apps as smooth, efficient and enjoyable as possible for end user. Conduct research to create personas and understand what user goals and pain points are.
* You will also help us design the processes that are core to our business but don’t necessarily include much user interaction. For example:
* The API orchestration journeys to deliver a particular business process.
* The entirely automated processing of a payment would impact numerous EML sub-systems.
* Design end user and customer journeys across all consumers, customer and internal touchpoints.
* Build mock-ups and models of the final product to test and iterate ideas before development commences demonstrating the user journeys and understanding how visual elements like layout, colour and typography impact user experience.
* Define the wireframes necessary for our product and technology teams to develop quickly and iteratively.
* Build the information architecture of the site or app, structuring content and functionality in a way that makes sense and helps users find what they need quickly.
* Ensure that designs make technology intuitive and enriching, also ensuring that websites and apps are accessible to everyone.

What you’ll do

As part of a product team, as a successful Product Designer you will have the following duties and responsibilities

* Deliver intuitive, visually appealing designs across web portals, mobile apps (iOS/Android), headless business processes and internal tools.
* Develop empathy for client problems, needs, use cases and jobs to be done, with regular client engagement for feedback, collaboration and validation.
* Proactively engage with internal and external clients and users with discovery meetings, workshops, and calls where appropriate.
* Champion design thinking and set a high-quality standard for user interactions across all touchpoints.
* Work with the relevant product team and engineering members for prototyping and end-to-end UX/UI design for cards, payments, onboarding flows, and expense management.
* Take end-to-end ownership over the design approach and design outcomes for the evolution of existing and greenfield UI/UX.
* Illustrate design ideas and interaction concepts using process flows, storyboards, wireframes, visual concepts, clickable prototypes, sitemaps, and other artefacts as appropriate, clearly illustrating how interaction models and touchpoints work E2E, and rapid prototyping to speed up development cycles where necessary.
* Design visual interfaces using UI elements for external web portals / websites, mobile apps (iOS/Android), and internal web portals and tooling.
* Identify and troubleshoot UX issues and iterate design concepts based on user feedback.
* Design core headless processes that are at the core of the payment processing platform.
* Play a key role in prioritising the design backlog alongside the product team.
* Ensure timely delivery of design artefacts in line with product development efforts.
* Drive the evolution of design style guides and standards.

What you’ll bring

* 5-7 years’ experience as a UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, User Experience Designer, or Visual Designer in a fintech, tech company, financial services company, or bank.
* Proven experience designing B2B fintech products and solutions with the ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
* Experience designing world-class modern UI/UX experiences A portfolio of previous design projects or evidence of producing design artefacts (as this is a hands-on role).
* Experience working with design and prototyping tools, e.g. Figma, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, etc.
* Experience working and/or experimenting with AI tools for design and prototyping, and a curiosity for staying connected to developments in the space (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, AI capabilities in Adobe, Figma, Canva, etc.).
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand and concisely explain complex concepts.
* Strong technical expertise, able to develop a strong understanding of how user journeys and processes fit within a financial institution's core systems.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* High self-motivation and the ability to manage your own time effectively - for example being able to balance fidelity and refinement against turnaround times.
* The ability to collaborate effectively and continuously with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients to truly understand business and client goals and drive informed solutions.

What you will be offered

If you love what you do, you should love where you do it. We appreciate that everyone’s different and has their own preferences of where and how to work. We genuinely believe in the power of regular face-to-face interactions in building close connections with our teams, but we also strongly believe people can work effectively remotely. This means that combining both is the key to success.
