About the Company

Role Overview
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction and tendering phase, preparing accurate cost estimates for lightning protection and earthing projects. You will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure competitive and commercially viable bids.
The role is critical in helping the business win contracts while maintaining profitability and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse project drawings, specifications, and technical documents
* Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, and equipment
* Source and negotiate prices from suppliers and subcontractors
* Compile and submit competitive tenders and quotations
* Assess project risks and identify cost-saving/value engineering opportunities
* Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients during the bidding process
* Maintain accurate cost databases and pricing records
* Support handover of successful bids to delivery teams
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience as an Estimator or a qualified Electrician
* Strong understanding of construction processes and cost planning
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication and negotiation abilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
Qualifications xsngvjr (Preferred)
* Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. lightning protection BS EN standards desirable)
* Full UK driving licence
