Senior Hardware Design EngineerSalary: £55,000 – £63,000Location: Essex CoastWe’re working with a leading UK-based electronics manufacturer that designs and produces high-performance test and measurement systems used across aerospace, automotive, and advanced technology sectors. The company operates internationally and continues to invest heavily in product innovation and engineering excellence.This role offers the chance to join a highly experienced design team and lead projects from concept through to production - developing cutting-edge electronic hardware that underpins complex testing and control systems.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and development of digital, analogue, and RF hardware productsDefine product and design specifications in collaboration with Product ManagementCreate schematics and PCB layouts using Altium DesignerSelect components, perform simulations, and carry out performance analysisDevelop and execute test plans for prototypes and final productsConduct debugging and validation using oscilloscopes, logic and spectrum analysersCollaborate with software and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integrationMentor and support junior engineers through technical guidanceManage full product lifecycle from concept to releaseEnsure compliance with industry standards and support production teamsKey Skills and Experience:Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experienceStrong background in hardware design and developmentProficiency with Altium DesignerExpertise in high-speed digital, RF, power management, and EMI/EMC designExperience within test and measurement, instrumentation, or related industriesFamiliarity with FPGA design (VHDL/Verilog) or microcontroller-based systemsUnderstanding of embedded software principlesExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsWhat’s on Offer:Competitive salary up to £63,00025 days holiday plus bank holidays (option to buy/sell up to 10 days)Life insurance (4x salary)Corporate gym and spa membershipRegular reviews and performance-based pay progressionWellbeing and mental health support programmeFunded professional training and further education sponsorshipSocial events, including summer festival and Christmas celebrationsOpportunities for international collaboration and travelInterested?
