Adminstrator for Maternity Community Team
Band 3 – 22.5 hours
Job Overview
You will work closely with a team of midwives and support workers within the community hub at Basingstoke Hospital. Good IT skills and the ability to answer the telephone to patients are essential. We are looking for someone with previous administration experience within an NHS organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a quality booking service for maternity women, ensuring new booking referrals are correct and escalated to the appropriate team/midwife, including out‑of‑area referrals.
* Organise electronic diaries for the Hampshire Hospital Community Midwives, manage appointments and attendance for different specialities/modality, manage capacity and take proactive action where needed to meet contractual requirements and deliver a positive patient experience.
* Book patient appointments in compliance with the Trust Access Policy and manage patient records to ensure the smooth operation of clinics and appointments.
* Act as an expert booking clerk, providing reception, general administration and other duties commensurate with the banding of the post to maintain a high‑quality experience for patients.
* Promote best practice by ensuring appointments are delivered to the standard of service set by the Trust Access Policy and escalating issues or concerns as appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills
* Previous administration experience within an NHS organisation.
* Good IT skills.
* Strong telephone etiquette and ability to answer patient calls.
* Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
