Duty Manager
Full Time- Average 37 hours per week, working across 7 days, with a rota pattern of Early's Lates and Weekend shifts
This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll help ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient running of our leisure centres, while supporting staff and making every customer experience a positive one.
About the role
Are you an experienced leader who’s passionate about delivering great customer service? As a duty manager, you’ll be at the heart of our operations—leading staff on shift, supporting customers, and making sure our venues are safe, welcoming, and well-managed. You’ll also play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission: striving for healthier communities.
The role requires flexibility, with shifts including days, evenings, and weekends on a rota basis, and you may be asked to work across different venues as needed.
What you will be doing
Supervising and supporting staff during shifts to ensure smooth daily operations.
Acting as the first point of contact for customers—handling queries, feedback, resolving issues. Monitoring health & safety across the site, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
Managing staffing levels, including arranging cover and leading team briefings. Supporting financial tasks such as cash handling, petty cash procedures, and audits. Maintaining facilities and equipment, reporting and following up on maintenance issues. Delivering excellent customer service and promoting DCLT’s values in every interaction.
Providing first aid support when required and supplementing Pool Lifeguard cover. Assisting with administration, reporting, and IT systems in line with company procedures.
About you
Experienced in supervising staff and managing day-to-day operations. Confident in making decisions and taking responsibility under pressure. Knowledgeable about health & safety within a leisure environment.
Organised, reliable, and flexible to work across different shifts and venues. Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
Pool Lifeguard and First aid trained (or willing to complete training provided by us).

Essential skills & qualifications
Experience working in leisure or hospitality. First aid at work certificate.
Pool lifeguard qualification.
