Connectivity Services Specialist

Location: Cheltenham, UK (Hybrid working)

Role Overview:

Are you passionate about network infrastructure and connectivity? We’re looking for a Connectivity Services Specialist to join our Spirax Group IT team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure across global locations, with a strong focus on Cisco switching and Meraki wireless technologies. You’ll also oversee WAN connectivity provided by third-party partners, ensuring high performance, security, and compliance with SLAs. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your technical expertise will directly contribute to the stability and efficiency of our global network services.

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on…

1. Designing, configuring, and maintaining LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure using Cisco and Meraki solutions.
2. Acting as the primary point of contact for WAN service providers, managing service delivery and performance.
3. Leading the resolution of network-related incidents and providing Tier 2/3 support.
4. Executing network changes, upgrades, and installations in line with architectural standards.
5. Developing and maintaining network standards, policies, and procedures.
6. Proactively monitoring network performance and generating health and capacity reports.
7. Collaborating with internal IT teams, project managers, and external vendors to support infrastructure needs.
8. Participating in the on-call rota and supporting after-hours changes when required.

Your previous experience is likely to include….

9. Working within Infrastructure & Operations or similar operational IT teams.
10. Hands-on experience with Cisco and Meraki products, SDWAN, and wireless networking.
11. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, switching and routing, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and web proxies.
12. Familiarity with core IT technologies such as DNS, DHCP, BGP, and OSPF.
13. Experience in ITIL, PRINCE2, and ideally ISO27001 environments.
14. Leading technical sessions and delivering infrastructure projects from design to implementation.
15. Working knowledge of enterprise endpoint security, encryption, and patching.
16. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA A++.
