We are working with a medium-sized Freight Forwarder that has an exciting opportunity for an Air Export Clerk.

Looking for a minimum of 3 years of Air Export experience from start to finish.


Job Summary

The position focuses on meeting customer expectations by providing excellent customer service, including customs clearances, quotes, arranging shipments, invoicing, and other related functions. The individual should be prepared to be involved in multimodal activities as required and support the supervisor during holiday and absence periods.


Key Activities

1. Maintain contact with customers and suppliers to build relationships.
2. Manage cost control.
3. Complete end-to-end forwarding activities as required.
4. Follow strict SOPs/KPIs to ensure compliance.
5. Work closely with internal and external customers.
6. Focus on delivering excellent customer service.
7. Utilize CargoWise and MS Office applications as needed.
8. Ensure invoicing and job costing are updated within the required timeframe.
9. Ensure month-end department compliance.
10. Handle customs entries.
11. Assist supervisors and line managers when required.
12. Complete all reports, including internal and customer-specific, within deadlines.
13. Resolve queries from customers and suppliers.
14. Adopt Best Practice models.
15. Collaborate with the line manager on internal and external rate reviews.
16. Participate in customer reviews to enhance visibility and relationships.
17. Assist sales and management in customer development.
18. Operate within the company's QA system.
19. Ensure compliance with customs and H&S regulations.
20. Perform any other tasks as directed by supervisors or line managers.


Technical Experience

1. Proficient in PC applications, especially Excel and Word.
2. Educated to GCSE/O level standard or equivalent.
3. Good knowledge of customs clearance procedures.
4. Operational knowledge of freight forwarding processes.
5. High level of customer service skills.

Working Hours and Salary

Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5:30 pm. Salary up to £35K depending on experience.
