Year 5 Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Enfield

Protocol Education is working with a forward-thinking primary school in Enfield to recruit a dependable and engaging Year 5 Teaching Assistant. This full-time, term-time role starts in September 2025 and offers the chance to support upper Key Stage 2 pupils as they build the skills—and confidence—they’ll carry into Year 6 and beyond.

Hours: Full-time, term time
Pay: £85–£95 per day (based on experience)
The Role:
Year 5 is a big step up. Expectations grow, lessons stretch further, and pupils start preparing for their final year of primary school. Your role will be to help them navigate that shift—with warmth, structure, and a calm presence in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide in-class support across English, maths, and wider curriculum subjects
* Lead small groups and offer 1:1 intervention to help close learning gaps
* Encourage independence and self-management in pupils
* Assist with classroom routines, behaviour management, and engagement
* Support emotional wellbeing and help pupils feel confident in their abilities
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience supporting KS2 pupils—ideally in Year 5 or Year 6
* A relevant Level 2/3 TA qualification or equivalent background in education
* Strong communication skills and a solution-focused mindset
* Confident supporting pupils preparing for end-of-year assessments
