We are looking for a conscientious and adaptable individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join the Pharmacy team at the Grange University Hospital (GUH) as a Pharmacy Assistant.

Responsibilities
* Assist in controlling pharmaceutical stock: supporting the Logistics Service, reviewing and creating orders to suppliers, and resolving supply issues.
* Receipting orders from procurement and pharmaceutical suppliers.
* Checking all pharmaceutical orders against appropriate paperwork.
* Ensuring delivery notes are passed to the clerical office for matching with a purchase order.
* Putting all received stock into the correct bin location, ensuring stock rotation and reducing waste.
* Quarantining all stock and consumables for testing by Quality Control.
* Carrying out stock checks of starting materials and consumables to agreed stock levels, including checking of expiry dates.
Person Specification
* Essential qualifications and knowledge
o Good standard of secondary education
o Computer literacy
o NVQ/QCF Level 2 or equivalent demonstrable experience
* Desirable qualifications
o GCSE at C grade or above in Maths, English and science or equivalent qualifications
* Essential experience and aptitude
o Recent experience providing a service/supply function
o Good interpersonal skills
o Organisational abilities
o Good verbal and written communication skills
