Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Therapy Team at Discovery House to support effective evidence‑based specialist clinical services for both male and female service users from the age of 18+.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with Occupational Therapists and receive monthly supervision.
* Deliver time‑specific 1:1 interventions based on individual care needs, e.g., building confidence in public transport and developing basic cookery skills.
* Support a range of group activities on the ward, at the main activity hub, and in the community.
* Collaborate with internal and external services and the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support service users throughout their journey.
* Plan and implement therapeutic activities tailored to individual needs, choices and interests under supervision of a qualified OT in an acute inpatient mental‑health setting.
* Complete in‑house training including mandatory training, the Model of Human Occupation framework, and sensory integration principles.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Completion of RRP training.
* Ability to drive a manual car (preferable).
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and flexible working.
