Job Outline:
To operate CNC machines, producing high quality parts, working to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Setting and Operating CNC machines in a fully functioning Machine Shop.
2. Set up relevant machinery to ensure efficient production of precision components within correct dimensions that is suitable for further processing.
3. Have the ability to read and interpret complex design drawings
4. Ensure health and safety is adhered to and maintained within the workshop
5. Look at how the machine shop can improve ways of working to reach greater productivity.
6. Ensure that the required quality and operating standards are satisfied throughout each stage of manufacture to achieve optimum quality.
7. Instruct other employees in the operation of machinery and processes and assists other personnel in the department
8. Ensure that the equipment and work area is cleaned and maintained in accordance with the operator’s maintenance schedule and the required departmental standards
9. Support the business needs by operating across the whole department as required and to fully participate in ongoing process/business improvement programmes
10. Plan if necessary, and to produce one off type components and special project work which is outside the average production level of work.
Personal Specification:
It is essential that all candidates have the following:
11. Mechanical Engineering Technical Certification
12. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Mechanical Engineering Qualification or Demonstrated Experience
13. Experience of NC Machining – setting and running
14. Understanding of health and safety in the workshop
15. Candidate flexibility may be required
