Overview
Senior Creative Designer - 12 month FTC role at Domestic & General. This role supports the Creative team with the delivery of quality, innovative & creative artwork for the Domestic & General Group and specific clients and sectors. You will work closely with the Head of Creative and your creative colleagues, in delivering flexible, responsive and internal/client-focused design service. Ensuring that all artwork is created effectively, according to set procedures and compliances, to deadlines and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* As a Senior Designer in the Creative team, deliver high-quality, on-brand designs across a variety of channels, including print, digital, social, events, and campaigns. Translate briefs into visually compelling creative solutions that meet business objectives, while maintaining consistency, innovation, and technical excellence across all outputs.
* Collaborate with internal clients to understand requirements, budgets, and timescales, ensuring assets are available for the design team to produce proficient proofs.
* Work closely with copywriters and fellow designers to brainstorm creative solutions and develop standout concepts.
* Present design work at various stages to stakeholders for review, feedback, and final approval.
* Prepare rough drafts/scamps as required, based on an agreed brief, for early-stage approval.
* Proofread and check to deliver accurate, high-quality, and error-free work.
* Review final layouts and suggest improvements where necessary.
* Prepare finished artwork for print production, liaising with external suppliers, printers, and contractors, and approving proofs.
* Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, with support from the Line Manager, to ensure deadlines are met and priorities remain clear.
* Apply quality control checks to all outputs prior to sign-off or production.
* Ensure all outputs meet accessibility, usability, and brand quality standards.
* Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and techniques — including AI artwork tools — to produce technically accurate, optimised designs across different formats and channels.
* Use AI artwork tools where appropriate, crafting effective prompts and ensuring outputs are consistent with brand guidelines and creative quality expectations.
* Seek out creative opportunities and continuously strive for innovative, impactful results.
Knowledge and Expertise
* Artwork/Studio/Print processes.
* Adobe CS Creative Suite (InDesign, InCopy, Photoshop and Illustrator) and Figma.
* Canva. AI tools – such as Mid Journey.
* Microsoft Office/outlook.
