Offer description

Overall recruitment for Speciality Doctors, Wales Deanery vacancies and Health Board positions in line with National and Health Board policies and procedures Agency Locum appointments and invoicing process.

* Co-ordinate the recruitment and appointment process for all grades of medical staff.
* Providing advice and guidance on recruitment, locum and other queries.
* To collate information, including recruitment; vacancy; locum activity and invoicing provide this on a monthly basis to the Resourcing Manager; and organisation as required.


Main duties of the job

Oversee the appointment process for the Specialty and Resident Doctors by the Medical Workforce Recruitment Assistants, working with them and the Divisions to resolve any difficulties or barriers to recruitment.

Ensure vacancy Establishment Control Procedures, current recruitment principles and pre-employment checking requirements have been adhered to.

Attend recruitment interviews for Speciality and Resident doctors to ensure identity checks are completed prior to interview, take comprehensive notes to an agreed format, ensuring panel compliance with Equalities legislation and organisational recruitment processes, and the relevant paperwork is completed by all panel members.

To notify successful and unsuccessful candidates of the outcome of the recruitment interviews being aware of the need for sensitivity particularly where a candidate has been unsuccessful.

Undertake direct liaison between Division`s Locum Agencies and directorates, to establish requirements and ensure Locum cover is planned, where appropriate and is provided for absent Doctors/vacancies in accordance with the Department of Health Locum Code of Practice and other relevant guidelines.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Advise on terms and conditions of employment in line with Workforce and OD and Medical and Dental policies and procedures escalating to Recruitment Officer or Manager where necessary.

Liaise with Occupational Health to ensure that all relevant clearances are completed for new Doctors, including agency Locums.

Ensure accurate input of new starters information onto the Electronic Staff Record system. This may be subject to random checking by the Recruitment Officer.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* NVQ 3 or equivalent
* NVQ 2 in administration or Customer Service
* ECDL


Experience

* Experience of working in an administrative role
* Experience of working with Microsoft Office Word; Excel
* Ability to prioritise and organise workload and meet deadlines
* Excellent customer service and communication skills so as to be able to deal with callers over the phone and in person in a professional and courteous manner
* Experience of using IT databases
* Experience of NHS systems e.g. ESR / NHS /Intrepid
* Previous experience of working within NHS
* Recruitment experience preferably within a Human Resources of Medical Workforce environment
