Hays Education is supporting a friendly and inclusive primary school in the Penwortham area, and we are seeking a skilled andmitted 1:1 Behavioural Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.
Your new role
You will work on a one‑to‑one basis with a primary-aged pupil who requires additional behavioural and emotional support to engage positively in their learning. The school is looking for someone who can provide consistency, calmness and encouragement throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting the pupil with emotional regulation and behaviour management
2. Implementing personalised strategies and intervention plans
3. Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo
4. Promoting positive learning behaviours and social interaction
5. Encouraging confidence, independence and resilience
What you'll need to succeed
6. Experience supporting children with behavioural needs, SEMH or additional needs
7. A calm, patient and empathetic approach
8. Strong behaviour management skills
9. The ability to build a trusting relationship with the pupil
10. A genuinemitment to helping children ovee barriers
11. A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one through Hays)
