Job Description
As a Radiation Physicist Engineer, you will join Derby team to support our activities within the Nuclear sector.
This is a great opportunity to apply advanced nuclear physics knowledge in a high-impact, regulated environment, working closely with multidisciplinary teams on reactor systems, shielding design, and compliance with nuclear safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Modeling and simulating radiation transport using industry-recognised tools.
* Supporting the design of radiation shielding and protection systems for nuclear facilities.
* Conducting dose rate calculations, activation analyses, and radiological assessments.
* Interpreting and applying nuclear safety standards and radiation protection regulations.
* Collaborating with engineers and safety teams to ensure compliance throughout the lifecycle of the project.
* Preparing technical documentation and presenting analysis results to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Required Skills: Solid foundation in nuclear or radiation physics.
* Experience in radiation shielding, protection, or transport modelling.
* Hands-on experience with Monte Carlo simulation codes – ideally MCNP.
* Exposure to Attila4MC or similar deterministic transport software (a bonus).
* Familiarity with nuclear regulatory requirements and radiological safety standards.
* Strong communication skills and ability to document technical findings clearly.
* Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
* Desirable Skills: Experience in nuclear, power generation, or other safety-critical industries
