Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Nottingham
Salary: GBP 30,000 : GBP 40,000 per annum
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering company based in Nottingham. This role would suit someone with experience designing bespoke machinery or special purpose machinery (SPM), with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
: Design bespoke machinery and special purpose equipment from concept through to manufacture.
: Produce 3D models, detailed 2D drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks.
: Design components and assemblies incorporating fabrication, sheet metal, and CNC machined parts.
: Work closely with manufacturing, assembly, and project teams to ensure designs are practical and cost:effective.
: Support prototype builds, testing, commissioning, and design improvements.
: Manage engineering documentation and design changes.
Skills and Experience Required:
: Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (essential).
: Experience designing bespoke machinery or SPM equipment.
: Good understanding of fabrication, sheet metal design, and CNC machining processes.
: Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
: Strong problem:solving skills and attention to detail.
: Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
